The Problem

The Nimble AMS Account Affiliation object is used by many associations to track chapter memberships or regional memberships. Out of the box, these records have a Status field that reflects whether the affiliation is past, current, or future — but there is no concept of a grace period.

That means when an affiliation term ends, it immediately shows as inactive. This can throw off reporting, and there is no window for renewal outreach without looking at the related main membership. Staff lose visibility into the most actionable segment of their chapter/reigonal membership: the people who are almost gone but haven't left yet.

What Our App Does

This build adds two fields to the Account Affiliation object. The first calculates a grace period end date based on the membership's End Date and the organization's grace period policy. The second evaluates the affiliation's real-time status into one of four values:

• Current — actively within their affiliation term
• Future — term hasn't started yet (e.g., early renewals)
• Grace — term ended but still within the grace window
• Past — term and grace period have both expired

This keeps your regional/chapter memberships in lock-step with the related main membership in realtime — every time a record is viewed, queried, or reported on. No batch jobs, no triggers, no data that can drift out of sync. Staff can immediately use the new status in list views, reports, dashboards, and flows.
